Chappu Eats With Style

I have been trying for years to catch Chappu in the act of eating with her "hands". Normally, she eats like anyone else: standing in front of a bowl with her head down, grabbing her food with her mouth. Every once in awhile, however, she prefers to eat by grasping the food in her paw and bringing it up to her mouth like you and I. Often, this is performed in the reclining position. Also, if she can do it after interupting someone else's meal it tastes even better!

The first three pictures are from a couple of years ago and not in good focus, but they are the first "evidence" of my Jane Goodall-like observations. First the reclining stare... (poor Calvin's trying to eat.)

... then in for the first grab...
.... crunch, crunch, crunch - delicious!

This was just a couple of weeks ago. This time her victim is Frosty. First the reclining stare... (I distracted her with the camera)...

... then the lunge...

... then Frosty's "What the @*&$%?"...

.... ahhh... the bowl to herself.

Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch...

... swipe number two, and so on.

She can even do it standing up:

That at the end there, the walking stripes, was Tippy. Filming animals is always a challange!
